Street Fighter 4 | New Screens and Details about Street Fighter 4
December 8, 2007 2:40 pm Arcade, PS3, Xbox 360The perennial fighting masterpiece, Street Fighter, is set to explode into the gaming world again with Street Fighter 4. Undoubtedly, as soon as Capcom delivers this new fighter it will rekindle the flame of fighter fans everywhere.
To whet our appetites, Capcom has released some new screens and a teaser trailer. These screens are purported to come from the actual gameplay itself, which is simply astonishing. Catch all of the screens, some game info and the teaser trailer after the break.

Here’s what we know about the game so far: While the game’s are polygonal (natch), Capcom insists that the gameplay is going to remain strictly in the 2D realm. As all of us remember the travesty that Street Fighter 3 EX on the PS2 was, I know that you’re all filled with as much relief as I am about this. Not only that, but with Virtua Fighter 5 and DOA 4 both already out (at least for the 360, there’s no DOA love on the PS3) the 3D fighting marketplace is already chocked full of other great games.

Some more details about the game is that there will be new moves, locations and gameplay features. However, it will still have the same standard six-button control scheme. The returning characters? We’ve got Ryu, Ken, Chun-Li and Dhalsim. Other than that, it’s a mystery.

What system is this going to be for? Good question. Capcom isn’t spilling that yet, because it’s not clear where this will end up, the arcades, the PS3 or the 360.
Wherever it goes, it’s gonna be a hit.
