South African Jobs: Mann Made Games
Never heard of Mann Made Games? Well, listen up, because these up-and-comers are going to make it large…and soon. They are a division of Mann Made Media and was formed in January 2007. Mann Made Media noticed that there was a great need for gaming in South Africa so they took the initiative to start up Mann Made Games with the help of overseas video-game industry veterans.
Their goal is simple: To create a gaming environment in South Africa that can hold its own in the international marketplace and have locally produced content that they can call ‘eMazanai.’
What You’d Work on If You Got This South African Job
You can try out their opening salvo in the videogame world, Sally Williams.
Right now they are working on Battle Story Dragoon. The story of this game is that it’s the year 2060 in the Kalahari Desert and your expert Dragoon tank battalion has been sent to remove all hostile objectives and make its way back home. With the battalion lost, and you the lone survivor, your only contact is a mysterious shadowy figure, who can lead you home if you follow his instructions! If this game can live up to their design potential, we might just have a winner here.
Also, there is Rocket Commander vs. The Moon Men which is about the future of 1974 (alternate reality here people, don’t argue!) and the Moon Men have decided to steal our “Radioactivity”! (Naturally, everyone knows that ‘radioactivity’ cures all diseases and has granted mankind immortality.) In order to save humanity from the Moon Men, you have been ordered to pilot your Rocket Ship to the moon. In an act of classical irony, you will give the moon Men our “radioactivity” in the form of an experimental bomb. (We are optimistic that these “Radioactivity” bombs will be detrimental to the Moon Men’s physiology and not grant them the immortality that we humans have been blessed with.)
With game like this on the horizon, take this opportunity to apply for this South African job today.
